“…and this final score, just in: Big Pharma Suits 47,We The People 11…boy, the Suits remain undefeated against We The People, although, perhaps ironically, they are subsidizing the big contracts and salaries of The Suits…”
With all the confusion and complications over the Health Care Bill in Congress, it is reassuring that it can all be represented by a simple score: 47-11; that was how many “representatives” on the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted at the command of who they really represent, when Big Pharma jerks their leash.
Even, Henry Waxman (D-LA), a liberal power-broker in the House was unable to muster more than a quarter of his committee’s votes for a health reform bill that would limit patent monopoly time frames. Moreover, at the request of Big Pharma, who wanted to make sure that they got every vote that they paid for, fellow California Democrat Anna “Sneezy” Eshoo insisted on a roll call vote, so that names could be recorded. Or, maybe she just wanted to make sure that Big Pharma knew that she voted against We The People to assure a generous campaign contribution?
And, there is big money at stake: in just the first half of the year, drug and biotech companies and their trade associations spent $110 million for lobbying the “representatives” of We The People; that’s a tidy $609,000 per DAY.
Big Pharma doesn’t have a lobbyist whore for every person in Congress; they actually have 2.3 lobby sluts, a total of 1,228 conscious-less zombies humping the legs of “representatives” 24/7. Over the past three years the members of Waxman’s committee were handed $2.6 million in quid-pro-quo-donation money.
A perfect example of the revolving doors between Congress and
“We’ve done very well. We carried a majority of the Democrats AND the Republicans in each of the committees and by very clear margins.”
ED. NOTE: If you wish to congratulate Mr. Greenwood on his success at lobbying members of Congress to vote against the interests of We The People, here is his contact information:
