 "Iraq is yesterday's war; Afghanistan is today's war...Yemen is tomorrow's war..." 

So spake "Mo" Joe Lieberman today.  Once again an acorn of truth may have been stumbled upon by this littlest squirrel in the corporate-managed forest of Congress; U. S. involvement in Yemen, which produces 200,000 barrels of oil per day, has been increasing and begs the question:  Is Obama ready to accede, if the Pentagon tells him Yemen may be a "failed state" and al-Quaida is training terrorists there?

Those conspiracy theorists suggest that the attack by the Nigerian "Underwear Bomber" may have been allowed, even fomented by, the CIA to gin up fears about Yemen, the reported country of origin of the weapon on the plane.

Other mysteries compel the rational mind:

Q:  How did the young Nigerian rich boy's alleged attempted attack on a U. S. airliner occur, after his banker father had called the U. S. Embassy two weeks ago to warn that his son had gone jihad and was a potential threat?

Q  After father his father called the U. S. Embassy in Nigeria and warned that his  radicalized son was a threat, why wasn't he the son added to the No Fly List? The Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment List, maintained by United States National Counterterrorism Center, includes about 550,000 names 27 Dec 2009 The Nigerian man accused of trying to ignite an incendiary device aboard a trans-Atlantic jetliner on Friday came to the attention of American officials at least "several weeks ago," but the initial information was not specific enough to raise alarms that he could potentially carry out a terrorist attack, a senior Obama administration official said on Saturday. It was unclear whether Mr. Abdulmutallab’s name was entered into the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment list, which includes people with known or suspected contact or ties to a terrorist or terrorist organization.

 

Q:  Why are they not necessarily placed on the federal government’s so-called no-fly list, which prohibits persons entering the United States because of known or suspected  terrorists links?  Mr. Abdulmutallab was not on that list, federal officials say.

Q: How does an amateur bomber get through security at two major airports?

Q: Where did he get access to military-grade high explosives --80 grams of PETN?   

Q: How does the Administration claim that the security system "worked"?; is the new U. S. security policy "airline passengers are on their own?"

Q: Before sending 30,000 troops to Afghanistan to protect and defend Heroin Hamid Karzai, President Obama had 50,000 actionable troops; do the math:  20,000 troops left in the Pentagon cupboard.

Q: If the Pentagon convinces President Obama to send those last 20,000 troops to the "failed state" "al-Quaida training base" Yemen, who will protect the "homeland" (aka United States of America)?  Maybe the Summer Soldiers in Congress, or their sons and daughters?

Q:  Has the U. S. created more friends, or jihadists, by sending troops into Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen?

Q:  How will we know when the last al-Quaida terrorist is dead?

Q:  When do we run out of paper to print money to pay for all our wars?

Q:  Does anybody else remember that Osama Bin Laden demanded that the U. S. remove its military bases from Saudi Arabia to avoid a jihad?  Or remember that Bin Laden said that they will defeat the United States by bankrupting the country with the cost of foreign wars?

Q:  Since the cost of the Middle East wars would pay for a Health Plan for all Americans for TEN years, what is the reasonable choice?

Q:  How much money did Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld make on the Iraq war?

Q:  Why did Cheney’s Halliburton build detention camps in the United States?

Q:  Why did Cheney’s Halliburton get fined for over-charging for services to the U. S. troops?

Q:  Why did Cheney’s Halliburton buy Africans to house in trailers off military bases and pay them $2 and hour to cook and clean for the troops?

Q:  If someone, say a U. S. Vice President and a Defense Secretary, start a war on lies and they make millions from that war, shouldn’t they go to prison for “war profiteering?”

Q:  Why did the Patriot Act allow the Sec. of Defense (Donald Rumsfeld) to “determine” that a United States’ citizen was an “enemy combatant”—who could be denied basic habeas corpus rights?

Q:  Is it true that Blackwater mercenaries are not subject to the Posse Comitatus Act and can arrest and detain U. S. citizens?

Q:  How long will citizens of a country believe the liars who tell them that it’s raining indoors, while pissing on their shoes?
