Obama Stuck in Endless "Whack-a-Mole" Game--Endless Profits for Weapons Makers

When George Bush declared a “War on Terror” he committed US foreign and military policy to an endless game of “Whack-a-Mole.”

As bright as he is, President Obama has not been able to resist playing; Bush 43 played version 1.0—"Whack I Rack"—and Obama took the hammer and played version 2.0—"Mash a Muj"—and is ready to play three games simultaneously, as he takes his first whacks at version 3.0 "Kill a Kida—Yemen Edition."

Cold War savant Condi Rice created the Bush Doctrine; she was the National Security Advisor who missed that report that said that 'a terrorist attack on the homeland, by airplanes, was imminent'-- a few weeks before 9/11.  Oh, but her expertise relates to wars that involved nations, she stretched her intellect to use the war on a concept as a pretext for “pre-emptive” attacks, where, if the US determined that “terrorists,” who MIGHT attack the “homeland,” it had the right to enter that sovereign nation to “root them out” with military forces, both ordinary and Special.

 

Imagine that Putin determines that “terrorists,” who MIGHT attack HIS “homeland,” are in the United States.

Using the Bush Doctrine as his justification, he sends unmanned drones from Cuba to “take out terrorists” in Miami and orders Russian Special Forces and hired “non-soldiers” (like US the Blackwater operatives in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan) across the Canadian border to find and kill “terrorists” that he says threaten Russia.

 

Last week Pakistani citizens were shocked and angered to learn that the US had flown drones over their country’s airspace and infiltrated their borders with US Special Ops teams and, they believed, hired assassins from Blackwater;

they were even more stunned to discover that this was done without the knowledge of the Pakistani government.

 

Arrogant Patricians in the US say:  “Well, so what?  We’re America; we’re the good guys.”  This socio-centric attitude that assumes that Americans are, well, “better” than the “wogs,”

non-Christians and other non-whites in the “Turd World” and, since we have the only true God on our side, it is our moral right to trample the rights of sovereign nations and individuals. 

Some elitist Patricians—Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfnowits—don’t even trust some of their fellow citizens, so they wrote the Patriot Act (where THEY are the “patriots”) and assumed the right to “designate” any American citizen an “enemy combatant”

and arrest and incarcerate them indefinitely without the right to appear before the judiciary branch; this ignored the right of “habeas corpus,” which allows a judge to say “bring me the person charged” to determine the legality of the denial of their right to freedom, life,  liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

 

Along comes "Farouk U"  Abdul-mu-tal-lab, the “Package Bomber", who, due to a wardrobe malfunction, set his balls on fire, instead of blowing up a US passenger airliner in Detroit.

(Are they are still searching a nun on her way home to Des Moines, Iowa; her flight had never left the US, did not originate in Nigeria, she had a VISA, she was not on any watch list, but, the Dept. Of Homeland Security says that, women her age, usually wear Depends.)

This Richey Rich turned warrior of jihad now tells his inquisitors that more attacks are being planned.

Wielding his mighty mallet, President Obama vowed to use "every element of our national power" to keep Americans safe, declaring that the US would "not rest" until it has called to account those behind the attempted suicide bombing and he had directed his national security officials to "keep up the pressure on those who would attack our country".

 

He stopped short of mentioning that he has already been playing “Whack-a-Mole” version 3.0 Kill a Kida—Yemen Edition. 

 

During the last year, while still playing version 1.0—Whack I Rack—and version 2.0—Mash a Muj—the US has increased its military aid package to Yemen from less than $11m in 2006 to more than $70m this year, as well as providing up to $121m for development over the next three years.

 

For about a year, the US spent tens of millions of dollars boosting Yemen's coastguard and border security and providing helicopters with night-vision cameras. Defense analysts and Yemen observers say that the US has also provided intelligence gathered over Yemen by unmanned drones.

 

Al-Qaida in Yemen has been galvanized into winning local support over recent months by direct US and British support for Yemen's counter-terrorism efforts, according to sources close to the group. Its statement yesterday saying the attempted bombing on Christmas Day was in retaliation for US attacks on the group in Yemen follows.

 

In the midst of two unfinished major wars, the United States has quietly opened a third, largely covert, front against 'al Qaida' in Yemen.  About a year ago, the Central Intelligence Agency sent several of its top field operatives with counterterrorism experience to the country, according a former top agency official. At the same time, some of the most secretive Special Operations commandos have begun training Yemeni security forces in counterterrorism tactics, senior military officers said. The Pentagon is spending more than $70 million over the next 18 months, and using teams of Special Forces, to train and equip Yemeni military, Interior Ministry and coast guard forces, more than doubling previous military aid levels.

 

Where will the “moles” the “al Qaida operatives” pop up next?  The US intelligence community suggests they will find “failed states” and states of near bankruptcy, so this could mean places like Somalia, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, and even Columbia.

The National Intelligence Council forecasts that within the next decade "weak governments, lagging economies, religious extremism, and youth bulges will align to create a perfect storm for internal conflict in certain regions."

 

If we add another criterion:  their leaders mangle the English language, the terrorists may be headed for the near-bankrupt “failed state” with youth bulges of 

“Collie-Forrn-yah”!
