Before we say,
"Whew! Glad that's over!" and move on, realize that, even IF they
ever stop-up the Gulf Gusher, the damage done by the
"solution"--COREXIT--may be the lingering legacy of the
Eco-Extinction Event.
It is likely that
this highly toxic dispersant, banned in BP's UK for over a decade, will poison
croplands and watersheds, as hurricanes carry it north and east of the
Mississippi river.
As we expected,
there are signs of crop death in Mississippi and reports of a strange plant
disease as far north as Ohio. As the
hurricane season blows into the Gulf, watch for drinking water sources, ground
water, lakes, rivers and then, aquifers to be poisoned by COREXIT.
And where the hell
was the President, the VP, the EPA director, the Homeland Security director and
Congress, when they started spreading this poison on the Gulf and its
residents? Didn't anyone know that this
toxin is banned in Great Britain and many other countries? All of you swore and oath to "protect
and defend" the US citizens. So,
while you were spending billions on a senseless war, were simply blind to the
toxic attack on your country by a foreign corporation? Shame!
The damage to the
crops will result in food shortages in the US and force a mass migration of the
residents, suddenly without clean water, to S. California, Texas, Alabama,
Georgia, the Carolinas, just as the states are barely able to provide for their
current residents.
And, the resettled
will be the lucky ones; many less fortunate citizens will be forced to accept
an offer they can't refuse from the Federal government: life in FEMA camps, which were built by
Halliburton under Cheney's population program.
The 1944 uprising
in the Warsaw confinement ghetto should serve as a warning to ALL governments
that, when you concentrate a hopeless people. Ironically, this is what the
Israeli's are perpetrating on the people of Gaza--and they wonder why the
Palestinians fire unguided missiles and martyr suicide bombers. Q: Why do they use such crude devices to
kill? A: Because they do not have more sophisticated war machines--tanks, planes,
and atomic weapons--like the Israelis.
Once the
Government Gulf Gitmos are filled with former residents of the "Red Neck
Riviera," who will, like many unemployed young men in the Middle East,
spend their days stewing about the government, they may turn on it and then,
will we call our own citizens "insurgents"?
Yes, relocate Southerners from their communities to camps policed by strangers, "Northerners, Yankees" and let the former
residents of the Gulf states bring with them their copious collections of
weapons, still smarting from the Civil War and the post-war
"reformation" of The South. Gather together an entire army of pickup trucks with Confederate flag decals and gun racks will be
cooped up in Yankee minimum security detention centers with lots of idle time
to rehash the Civil War and other perceived grievances against "The
Northerners." Mix in a black President
and flame-blowers like Sara Palin and windbags like Limbaugh and you have the
ingredients for a major conflagration--The Fire Next Time.
The same people
who labeled the Left "conspiracy theorists" now theorize that Barack
Obama is not a US citizen, is not a loyal and patriotic American, or, even the
Anti-Christ of Biblical lore.
Yes, take the
smoldering ashes of the Civil War, fear of other races, fear of violence, fear
of The Other, and crank up the twin bellows of Palin and Limbaugh to stoke
paranoia, hysteria and hate, and you see fire everywhere.
Q: Who will be protecting the homes and property of the relocated residents? Who will be paying the mortgage? Will the banks foreclose on the refugees?
"Hey, I heard some of those camp people broke out last
night; I'm heading down to Eco-Adventures to buy some weapons and ammo..."
Was that YOUR
neighbor talking? Or, was it YOU?
And, just how much
force will the Federal and State governments be willing to justify in the name
of maintaining "law and order?"
Will your local Sheriff, CHP officer, police officer, National Guard
member "just follow orders" and arrest, beat, or even shoot you? Or will they refuse "orders" and
join a local "insurgency"? Will there be special FEMA camps for those
arrested and charged with "inciting a riot," "assault on a
police officer," and even, "terrorism"?
Terror is what
parents feel when they cannot feed their children. Terrorists are the ones who create the
disaster: BP, oil companies, Dick Cheney and George Bush, by allowing the
corporations to run amok in the Gulf by "deregulating" to maximize
the profit margin. Terrorists are the
ones who believe they are better than others and like a rapacious
Rupplestiltskin, turn the blood of the poor into gold for the rich.
The "Masters
of War" keep the world in a constant state of terror, fearing the Boogie
Man of the Day: totalitarianism,
dictatorship, fascism, socialism, communism and "terrorism." The
fearful are easily lead to the slaughter of war in the name of freedom and
democracy and, full of fear, they trade their freedom and rights for false
security and they let the corporations run a sham democracy, where a two-party, Tweedle Dee and Tweedly Dumb,
system, tells the people, who they are "so clever, and classless, and free." [Lennon] Yes,
"free" to elect representatives to represent the interests of the
corporations, who buy their control with campaign contributions, luxury
lunches, cocaine and whores.
And when citizens
are deprived of their "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,"as
they are jobless. hopeless and penned up in Federal camps and a growing lack of
hope festers and becomes a "nothing to lose" strain of desperation
and, overnight, into blind rage.
Will the history
books of the next decades include this chapter:
How the Gulf Oil Spill Disaster caused a Second American
Revolution, While Obama Slept.
