ABC News has taken a stand against the methane bubble rumors;
the network has found a credible source
to say very politely that the methane theory is a crazy crackpot fear.
According to Gary Byerly, a geologist at Louisiana State University:
"The idea that there could be a catastrophic cave in, or a methane gas explosion, that's not a reasonable worry. [...] The rock formations on top of this oil deposit have enough strength that nothing like that is going to happen." "On-going
research is primarily directed at early
Earth evolution, including magmatic, surficial, and biological systems.
This work, mostly in South Africa and Australia, has been supported much of
the time by grants from NSF and NASA.
NSF has just renewed support for my work in the Archean of South Africa."

But, before we declare: "Mission Accomplished," let's see who is pulling the strings of the MSM Marionettes on this channel of the corporate-controlled Main Stream Media.
Q: "Who's
the leader of the club?"
Oil
industry connections?
* Major
shareholders include Sid R. Bass, oil and gas baron.
* Disney
donated $640,000 to George W Bush's 2000 political campaign.
Penetration? 24% of
US households.
Hmm...Something doesn't smell right here...cheezy business... or
an oil leak?
"Disney's environmental and social record: The
company has been accused of human rights violations regarding the working
conditions in factories that produce their merchandise.
Numerous
environmental groups in Florida and California have criticized development
procedures used in building theme parks including damage to wetlands.
An
environmental management plan for a zone of Great Guana Cay, in the Abaco
Islands, criticized Disney for poor management of a 90-acre (36.4 ha)
tract of the island. Disney partially developed but then abandoned the place,
which was to have been a cruise ship resort called Treasure Island. The report,
by the University of Miami and the College of the Bahamas, blames Disney for
leaving hazardous materials, electrical transformers, and fuel tanks, and for
introducing invasive alien plants and insects that threaten the natural flora
and fauna of the island. [Source wikipedia.org]
